Recruit Profile
Coachable All-State three-sport athlete. Empathetic leader with speed and athleticism. Stellar student.

I am a three-sport All-State athlete - Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, and Lacrosse - at Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) in Hinesburg, VT. At the collegiate level, I am focused on playing Field Hockey. Both my parents were two-sport athletes at the D3 level and they loved the combination of elite academics and athletics. As I look ahead to college, that combination is something I desire to experience for myself.

I am very hard working in and out of school and I make it a priority to do well for myself. Currently, I have a 4.3 GPA with a challenging class load. I scored a 1330 the SAT in March. In 9th grade, I was awarded the top academic prize, and I also won my middle schools highest award for academics and leadership.

Athletically, I have already made big contributions . I made the varsity field hockey team as a first-year and saw action in every game up to the State Semifinals. Sophomore year I started every game, rarely left the field, and was named Second Team All Metro by opposing coaches, while the team made it to the D1 State Finals. Junior year I was named All State as one of the top 12 players in Vermont as well as First Team All Metro. I was named team MVP and had 7 goals and 10 assists on the season. In ice hockey, I was the leading scorer as a first-year on a team that lost in the State Finals. Sophomore year, I centered the first line and led the team in points and was named All State. Junior year I was named Assistant Captain. High School lacrosse was canceled freshman year, which was so disappointing, as I was so excited to try out for the varsity team. I was able to play all summer on the 802 Lacrosse 2023 club team. I started and contributed a lot to the Varsity team last Spring and was named First Team All State in 2022.

Playing three sports has helped me become a well-rounded athlete with a great skill set. Not only am I a lead-by-example player on the field, but I am also a very coachable kid who loves to meet new people. I always have a positive attitude and I look forward to bettering myself every season and every year.

Tess was a starting center midfielder for our team this fall, earning 1st team All-Metro League and 1st team All-State. She is very strong on the ball, has great speed, and distributes the ball with great vision, but can also carry through traffic. Offensively, Tess created most of our scoring opportunities this fall and had 10 assists. She had to play more defense than many other CMs on other teams, but she has a long reach, good control, channels well and a quick left hand. Tess was our primary inserter on PCs but I had to rest her on defensive PCs, though when needed, she made a strong flyer or trailer. Tess is a kind leader and great teammate. A very smart but respectful person, she is coachable and eager to learn more, though her FH IQ is high. She has so much potential. We have limited access to clubs and year-round field hockey in northern VT, so I expect that she will take off in college field hockey!
