Profile
Alan Good stepped into his role as Liberty Field Hockey Assistant Coach in Jan. 2020.

"After interviewing Alan, it became apparent that he possesses special tools that will help elevate Liberty Field Hockey. He is extremely hardworking, action-oriented and driven to pursue excellence at a high level," Parsley-Blocker stated. "In our program, we strive to run the best player development program in NCAA hockey. I believe that Alan will make an immediate imprint on our culture and help sharpen our program as we chase after a BIG EAST Championship. Alan will also aid in our video analysis and all aspects of our technical and tactical development. He is extremely well-suited for this position, both on and off the pitch. I am eager to see how the Lord continues to work in and through the program during this transition!"

A native of Kinsale, Ireland, Good has spent the last few years (2017-20) in Williamsburg and Charlottesville, Va., serving as the Coaching Director at Focus Field Hockey and as the Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach at The Covenant School.

"I am thrilled to get the chance to be a part of Liberty field hockey and can't wait to work alongside Coach Parsley-Blocker and Coach Hefner," Good said. "I have long admired the dynamic, progressive coaching staff and powerful team culture at Liberty – the program has made incredible strides in a short time. My aim is to help provide the team with high challenge and high support as we strive to reach our girls together."

While with Focus Field Hockey, Good was responsible for the design and execution of practices, camps clinic and lessons for Virginia's fastest-growing field hockey club, with sites in Charlottesville, Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. He has served as head coach and assistant coach for club teams at various recruiting and high-performance tournaments.

Good has helped to quadruple Focus Field Hockey membership while coaching more than 50 NCAA recruits. In addition, he has worked in various administrative roles, including direct management of site directors, coach education, mental training and character development, website and registration management, video analysis and social media.

While at The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Good has led the team to a state championship runner-up finish (2017), semifinal berth (2018) and quarterfinal appearance (2019). The Covenant Eagles were Blue Ridge Conference champions in 2018 and 2019, and Good earned Coach of the Year recognition in both of those seasons.
