Recruit Profile
Dedicated, coachable player with strong work ethic - natural leader, even as underclassman - multi-sport athlete for endurance and injury prevention

My very first high school field hockey season was in Spring 2021 and my team finished the regular season very strong, 8-0 without ever being scored on. In the second round of the playoffs, we ended up going into overtime, 0-0, against Northwest Guilford. Even though I start at defensive midfield, my coach put me in at forward and I ended up going one-on-one with the goalie to score our game-winning goal, which was the most memorable experience of my field hockey career. It really helped build my confidence that my coach and team had that much faith in me. I also made First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State after the end of that season, which helped motivate me throughout the summer.

One thing that really sets me apart from other players is my dedication and leadership. I didn't start playing field hockey seriously until seventh grade and have had to work hard to catch up with others who've been playing for much longer. I also have had to do much of this on my own because the club program in Winston-Salem (NC Fusion) is still very new and my high school team is also more inexperienced. But this has given me more of an opportunity to be a leader, even as an underclassman, and to encourage and help my teammates. Recently, I have started playing club field hockey for Charlotte Ambush, which is a two-hour drive (one way) from my house. The dedication and love of the sport that this shows makes me a valuable addition to any team because I will always keep working to improve and never settle.
